Sildenafil 100mg

Sildenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor. It blocks the phosphodiesterase type 5 enzyme, which promotes smooth muscle relaxation in the penile vasculature and increases blood flow in response to sexual stimulation. It does not work without sexual stimulation. Sildenafil is typically taken 30 to 60 minutes before activity, and a heavy or high-fat meal can slow its onset. 100mg is the maximum standard strength; your provider decides whether that dose is appropriate for you or whether to start lower.

Sildenafil received FDA approval for erectile dysfunction in 1998 following the trials that established the PDE5 inhibitor class, and has since been studied in thousands of clinical trials across a broad range of patient populations. Serious but less common effects can include sudden vision or hearing loss and priapism — a prolonged, painful erection requiring immediate medical attention.
